Walk-Up Songs for 10U Baseball: 25 Picks That Land Fast

Updated November 1, 2026 · 7 min read

The best walk-up songs for 10U baseball land the hook within a few seconds, have no explicit version to dodge, and sound like something a 9 or 10 year old picked, not a parent. Below are 25 that pass, pulled from the 12,904 youth players who chose a song on Leadoff in 2026, with the second to start each one.

What 10U means for the walk-up

10U is shorthand for league age 10 and under, so most of the roster is 9 or 10. In Little League that usually lands in the Minor Division (league age 7 to 12, with local boards setting their own cutoffs) or the bottom of the Major Division (league age 9 to 12). Travel programs and other organizations call it 10U outright. Baseball league age is the player's age on August 31 of the current year; softball uses December 31 of the previous year. Little League's league age page has the chart, and your local league decides which division a 9 or 10 year old plays in.

Why the walk-up matters more this year: 10U is kid pitch for most leagues. The pace slows down, there are more walks and more time between batters, and every kid on the bench watches the walk to the plate. At coach pitch the song was background. At 10U it is an entrance.

It is also the year kids stop wanting the song a grown-up picked. They want what the 12U kids have, with one difference: a 9 year old needs the good part to land fast, because a nervous kid reaches the box quicker than you think.

25 walk-up songs that fit 10U

This list comes from the 12,904 youth baseball and softball players who picked a walk-up song on Leadoff in 2026. We took the 2026 chart and kept only the songs that pass the 10U test: the hook arrives within a few seconds of the start point, a 9 year old can own it without explaining it, and not one kid who picked it this year ended up with an explicit version. Players is how many kids chose the song. Start at is where parents set it to begin, on average, so you know where the good part is before you scrub.

Five chart songs did not make this list because some kids who picked them ended up with the explicit cut: All I Do Is Win (24 percent of the kids who picked it), Pretty Girls Walk (17 percent), The Largest (16 percent), Lose Yourself (4 percent), and Big Dawgs (2 percent). They are fine at 10U if the clean version is the one on the phone. Our clean walk-up songs for baseball list covers how to check the label.

The 10U split: ballpark classics vs. this year's hits

Every 10U dugout has both camps, and the chart shows it. The classics are the songs their parents picked twenty years ago, and they still win because a speaker in the bleachers loves a riff. AC/DC was the most-picked artist of 2026 with 268 players across 11 songs. Thunderstruck, T.N.T., and Back In Black all land inside fifteen seconds from the start times above.

The hits are what the kids actually listen to. KPop Demon Hunters was the breakout of 2026: Golden, Takedown, How It's Done, and Soda Pop put HUNTR/X at number four among all artists with 202 players, ahead of Imagine Dragons and Metallica. Forrest Frank had 167 players spread over 15 different songs, plus another 116 on Up! with Connor Price, and his catalog is one a parent never has to screen.

A 10U trick: let your kid pick from the hits, then play them the classic the older kids use. Half the time they switch on their own after one game.

Where to start it at 10U

The first fifteen seconds of a song are almost never the good part. On Leadoff, 88 percent of walk-up songs get trimmed before the first game, the average start point is 31 seconds in, and the average walk-up plays for 21 seconds. At 10U, aim shorter. A 9 year old is in the box before a 12 year old has finished adjusting his batting gloves.

Test the trim at a practice with the real speaker at real volume, not in the car. At 10U a beat late means the song is still building when the umpire says play.

10U softball walk-up songs

10U softball players picked loud and picked songs about themselves. Girl On Fire by Alicia Keys was the top softball pick on the whole 2026 chart with 82 players, starting at 0:46. Roar (50 players, 0:57), Unstoppable (51, 0:49), Shake It Off (54, 0:47), and Party In the U.S.A. (47, 0:44) all fit a 9 or 10 year old. Barbie Girl by Aqua had 41 players and starts at 0:17. Big Girl Talk by Cj Beatty (27 players, 0:19) is the softball answer to Row My Boat.

Two popular softball picks need the label check: Pretty Girls Walk (17 percent of the kids who picked it got the explicit version) and Confident by Demi Lovato (26 percent). Search for the clean cut first.

The first kid-pitch season: nerves and the song

The first year of kid pitch comes with a new fear: the ball is coming from another 10 year old, and it does not always go where it is aimed. Plenty of 9 year olds who swung freely at coach pitch spend April stepping out of the box.

A walk-up song helps more than you would guess. It is a routine. Same song, same spot, same walk, every at-bat. The kid who hears the riff knows what comes next. Pick the song in March and leave it alone until the season ends.

Let them choose it, within the one veto you keep for lyrics. A song you find annoying is not a veto. A word you would not say at the field is. Our guide to the best walk-up songs for kids has the full picking routine, and if you are the parent running the speaker, the walk-up song app guide covers the setup from roster to first pitch.

Check the label, then check your league. Of the 12,904 songs kids picked on Leadoff in 2026, 923 came back from Apple Music as the explicit version, about 7 percent. The app flags each one before it reaches the field so you can swap in the clean cut, the announcer says a first name and last initial so your kid's full name never goes out over a speaker, and there are no ads. Walk-up music itself is a local decision: there is no national Little League rule on it, so check your league's local rules. Some allow it from coach pitch up, some cap the length, some ask a parent to run it, and a few do not allow it at all.

FAQ

Is 10U the same as Little League Minors?

Close, but not exactly. 10U means league age 10 and under, which is how travel programs and many other organizations name the division. Little League's Minor Division covers league age 7 to 12 and its Major Division covers 9 to 12, with each local board setting its own cutoffs, so a 10 year old could be in either. Check your league's age chart.

What is the most popular walk-up song for 10 year olds?

Thunderstruck by AC/DC. It was the most-picked walk-up song across all ages on Leadoff in 2026, with 170 players, and the chant at 0:38 is built for a kid walking to the plate. Among newer songs, Golden from KPop Demon Hunters was the breakout pick of the year.

How long should a 10U walk-up song be?

Ten to fifteen seconds. The average Leadoff walk-up plays for 21 seconds, but 9 and 10 year olds reach the box faster than older kids, and most leagues expect the music to stop when the batter steps in. Start the song at the good part and let the umpire cut it off.
